Getting a crew in and out of Trappe without disrupting anyone starts with knowing the building stock. Trappe is a small historic borough along Ridge Pike, next door to Collegeville, and that mix means the route, the parking plan and the equipment we bring can look different from one stop to the next, even within the same town.

About Trappe: History & Character

Trappe was settled in 1717 by Jacob Schrack Sr. on what was then an important colonial road roughly midway between Philadelphia and Reading. Local history holds that the name comes from a tavern Schrack ran that people nicknamed "the Trap" — the spelling shifted over time from Trap to Trapp to today's Trappe. It's a small, walkable borough, and one with a genuinely significant place in American religious history.

Trappe covers just over 2 square miles and had 4,002 residents at the 2020 census, up steadily from about 3,200 in 2000. It sits within the Perkiomen Valley School District and neighbors Collegeville just to the southwest.

Augustus Lutheran Church, built in 1743, is described as the oldest unchanged Lutheran church building in the country still in continuous use by its original congregation, and it's a designated National Historic Landmark. The Henry Melchior Muhlenberg House, now a museum, and the Speaker's House — home of Frederick Muhlenberg, the first Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives — are both here as well. It's a lot of American history packed into a very small borough.

Musician Jimmy Pop of Bloodhound Gang and 19th-century Wisconsin Attorney General William Rudolph Smith both have Trappe roots, and the old Collegeville-Trappe High School building still stands as a piece of the borough's more recent history alongside its colonial-era landmarks.

Trappe officially became a borough in 1896, separating its local governance from the surrounding township even as its roots as a colonial crossroads went back much further. Today it's run under a borough manager form of government, with Mayor Heather Blumenthal and a seven-member borough council handling local affairs; residents fall within Pennsylvania's 4th congressional district and are represented at the state level by Representative Joe Webster and Senator Tracy Pennycuick. The 2020 census recorded 4,002 residents with a median age of 39.9, a population that's roughly 80% White, 7% Asian, and 5% Black, spread across 1,566 households, just over half of them married-couple families.

Beyond the well-known Augustus Lutheran Church, Trappe holds a cluster of other historic sites worth knowing about. St. Luke's Church and its adjoining cemetery both date to 1742, and the cemetery is notably the burial ground for ancestors of the outlaw known as the Sundance Kid as well as founders of nearby Ursinus College. The Keystone Grange No. 2, a farmers' fraternal organization, has kept its Grange Hall in Trappe since 1873. The nonprofit Historic Trappe organization now manages five historic properties in the borough, including the Muhlenberg parsonage (built 1745) and the Dewees Tavern, which today houses the Center for Pennsylvania German Studies; the long-awaited Speaker's House museum, dedicated to Frederick Muhlenberg, was slated for its grand opening in spring 2026.

Getting around Trappe means Pennsylvania Route 113, the borough's main highway, along with SEPTA's Suburban Route 93 bus, which connects Trappe to both Norristown and Pottstown. Main Street still carries a mix of colonial and Victorian-era architecture alongside working retail, which gives the borough a lived-in, layered feel rather than a museum-piece one — a small town that kept growing instead of freezing in place. The 2020 census also found that 22.7% of Trappe's population was under 18 and 13.7% was 65 or older, a fairly balanced age spread for a borough that mixes long-settled families with newer households drawn by the Perkiomen Valley schools.

How We Work in Trappe

We run our own 13-person crew — never subcontractors — so the same people learn your building, your alarm codes and your pet peeves over time. Near Ridge Pike (PA 113/PA 29), that consistency matters: a crew that already knows where the breaker panel is and which door sticks moves faster and leaves less to chance.

Most of the offices we clean in Montgomery County run somewhere between 2,000 and 40,000 square feet, on a daily-to-weekly schedule set around when your last person leaves for the night. We plan Trappe stops so the truck parks once and the whole visit runs off that one spot, rather than shuttling gear back and forth.

Local Access, Planned Ahead

We confirm parking, entry codes and alarm procedures for every Trappe building before the first visit, not during it. If a building has a loading dock, a single unlocked door, or a strict after-hours sign-in, that gets written down and followed every time.

Mixed Building Types

Trappe isn't one kind of building — storefronts, professional suites, medical offices and corporate space all sit within a few minutes of each other. We staff and price each job by what it actually is, not by a one-size-fits-all rate.

Same Crew, Every Visit

The people who clean your Trappe office the first week are the same people who clean it the fiftieth. That continuity matters more in a place like this — a small historic borough along Ridge Pike, next door to Collegeville — where a substitute crew would spend its first month just relearning the building. Small problems, a jammed door, a leaking fixture, get caught and reported before they become expensive ones.

We utilize Carfagno Commercial Cleaning for our daycare, and have been so pleased with the service we receive. After years of a mediocre cleaning company that did the bare minimum (if that), Ken's service has been personalized to the needs of our facility, and his team does a thorough job of keeping our facility clean and sanitary. Ken's team does such a great job, we hardly even know they're here…in a good way!

We have been working with Carfagno Commercial Cleaning for almost a year. Ken is very responsive and easy to work with to make sure our cleaning needs are met. We had an issue with hazy floors which Ken researched and took extra time to address in order to rectify. Carfagno follows the lawyer rule of not touching/moving anything when cleaning desks, we appreciate this respectful approach.

We LOVE C3 cleaning! I cannot say enough amazing things about Rhonda who cleans our office - she is truly a miracle worker. Our office is always immaculate and the feeling of stepping into a fresh, clean office on Mondays is almost enough to take away the sucky Monday feeling! Ken Carfagno and his team are professional, thorough and most importantly caring.

C3 carries $2,000,000 aggregate general liability through Erie Insurance, screens every team member through KnowMyHire, and holds a 5.0 rating across 41 Google reviews. Do you require a long-term contract for a Trappe office?

No. Our agreements include a terminate-at-any-time clause. We are about 7 miles southwest of Harleysville, and we earn the work weekly rather than locking anyone into a term. Our word and our work are the contract.

What does office cleaning cost in Trappe?

Most monthly commercial cleaning runs $700 to $5,000 depending on size, scope and frequency. We quote after walking your building, never over the phone from a square-footage guess, and you get options rather than one number.

How fast can you reach a Trappe building in an emergency?

On site within 3 hours, 24/7, for small leaks, toilet overflows and carpet or floor extraction. Trappe sits about 7 miles southwest of our Harleysville base — roughly 13 to 25 minutes via Ridge Pike (PA 113/PA 29) — so an overnight call gets a crew that's already local, not one dispatched from another county at shift change.

Are your cleaners insured and background checked before entering a Trappe office?

Yes. Every team member clears KnowMyHire screening before they hold a key. We carry Erie Insurance general liability at $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, plus workers compensation at $100,000 per accident with a $500,000 limit, and we provide certificates at onboarding.

What's Trappe like, and how far is it from your Harleysville base?

Trappe was settled in 1717 by Jacob Schrack Sr. It's about 7 miles southwest of Harleysville — roughly 13 to 25 minutes via Ridge Pike (PA 113/PA 29) — which puts it well inside our regular Montgomery County route rather than at the edge of it.
